Scoliosis

Scoliosis

Physio says:

Stand in the mirror and see if you left shoulder is higher than your right, or left hip is higher than right.

Caused by the one-sided action of the golf swing.

The right hand is lower then the left causing the body to tilt, forming a C shape towards the target.

In young people this may be a result of excessive practice, carrying your school bag on one shoulder or poor muscle balance when growing.

In older ladies this can be due to menopausal osteoporosis.

Previous occupations or hobbies (such as nursing and gardening or secretarial work) may also be a cause.

In professional men and women this can be due to twisting towards a computer or working to one side of the desk.

This may also result from degeneration associated with arthritis.
