The Body and GolfUpper BodyThe Upper Body Segment: Introduction
When considering the upper body segment, it should be emphasised that the head, neck, shoulder girdle and shoulder region, arms, forearms, wrists and hands should be analysed individually and as a functional unit. In addition to this the majority of muscle groups which work over the neck, shoulder girdle and shoulder region not only support the underlying joints and structures, but also are intrinsically important in producing good upper body power and accurate swing geometry. This has been clearly outlined by "Jobe et al" who have extensively researched the importance
of the shoulder girdle and shoulder muscle groups in the golf swing. Introduction | The Golf Fitness System Level 1
